The problems of traditional backup protection are analyzed in this thesis, one new incremental current based differential current backup protectionsystem is proposed.Through the analysis of the sensitive and security of different currentdifferential criterions one new differential protection algorithm is proposed in this thesis. The sensitive and security of the criterion are analyzed by the vector quantities method and mathematics method.The new criterion is compared with the traditional incremental current criterion for their sensitive and security. The conclusion is that the new criterion has more sensitive.The charge current and CT saturation which are two important factors of incremental current differential protection are analyzed in this thesis. The method of adaptive K is proposed for the problem of charge current. The multi-derivative cooperation method is proposed to deal with the CT saturation problem.The problem of network data transmission is one the big problem of incremental current based backup protection system. So the QoS of IP network is described in this thesis.
