The thesis analyzes the shortcoming existing in tradional relaying of transmission lines, puts forward the idea of using the artificial intelligence technology in the scheme of transmission lines protection and establishes the relaying model. Artificial intelligence technology has the capability of self-studying and self-adaptivity.The thesis comprises two part: the first one is the research of non-communication protection for transmission lines based on RBF neural network, the second one is the study of transmission lines relaying system based on multi-agent technology.Chapter 2 expounds basis concept and normal principles of tradional transmission lines protection (current protection, distance protection and pilot relaying) and indicates the defect of these protections.Chapter 3 introduces the concept, characteristic and structure of artificial neural network (ANN) and multi-agent system (MAS).Chapter 4 introduces the research of non-communication protection for transmission lines based on RBF neural network in detail. Making use of the advantages of ANN, such as which can approach arbitrary non-linear function, which can study or realize self-adapt as for unclear of uncertain system. According to the characteristic of fault electric parameter in different location. The thesis puts forward the non-communication protection for transmission lines based on RBF neural network, which is only to use single terminal electric parameter of being protected lines, but it can auto realize all kinds of faults and can guarantee instantaneous protection within the protective range of 85% and successive tripping protection beyond the protective range of 85%, the time delay is only 40 milisecond. The relaying system has many prominent advantages compared to...
