In this dissertation a Thenar Pressure Measuring System based on PC and the software of LABVIEW is designed in order to analyze the walking pace. The purpose is to provide a tool for clinical research. This system is designed using a series of piezoelectricity transducers and the measurement technology of NI Company. Piezoelectricity transducers have the advantage of fine dynamic characteristics, which can improve dynamic response of measurement system. This advantage makes this system superior to those traditional transducer measurement systems and the data is more accurate than ever. Simulation instrument of NI Company and LABVIEW software is a system that promptly spread in China in recent years. It is becoming a worldwide prevalent programming language for measurement technology and instrument science. Graphic programming language and data stream thinking improved the efficiency of users greatly. Our system used the typical case of NI Company for reference, which shortened the developing process to greatly.The hardware of this system includes pressure transducer board array, signal modulation circuit, signal capture board and PC. The software consists of two modules, one is data capture and storage module and the other is data computation, analyses and display module.This system uses PVDF piezoelectricity film as transducer component. The primary evaluation of its mechanics characteristics indicates that the amount of electric charges and the static or dynamic pressure on PVDF piezoelectricity film have linear relation. The relationship doesnt change when the size of PVDF piezoelectricity film, the shape and radian of loading head are changed. The slope of curve is very stable. The pressure transducer board array consists of 16 PVDF transducers. The function is to turn thenar pressure signal into electronic signal.
