At the present time, the majority of transmissions used in the automobile are manual transmissions in China. This kind of transmission needs the driver's shift in high frequency, so the driver is easy to tired and ultimately affects the safety of driving. And different level of driving has big influence on economy of fuel, power and comfort performance. In a word, Automatic transmission is our perpetual pursue and is a significant sign of evolution of vehicle. Torque Convert is the basic element of the Automatic Transmission. It can change the speed and the torque steplessly and continuously. It has excellent self-regulation and adaptability, so it simplifies the operation radically. It can make the vehicles start calmly, speedup quickly, uniformly and gentleness. It can reduce the pinnacle-load and the torsion-shake, so it can prolong the life of the dynamical drive system. Thanks to above many strongpoints, the Torque Convert is very popular in the Automatic transmission. Combined with the cooperation research items that are "Development of T.C.+AMT automatic shift system of the cross-country vehicle"and the series design of Torque Convert. This dissertation aims to design the blade of the toque converter. And studied on the method of the design of the toque converter's blade. And analyses the rule of the internal flow and the effects to the performance of the torque converter using the STAR-CD software, which is one of the Computational Fluid Dynamics softwares. There are six chapters in the dissertation. The first chapter firstly gives a general introduce of Automatic transmission and Torque Converter. Lastly, it points out clearly the research content of the dissertation. The second chapter narrates the principal knowledge of Torque Convert. Moreover, it introduces the work principle and the performance of torque converter. The third chapter narrates the calculation of geometrical parameters of Torque Convert. It shows us two methods. The one is the gradual approach, the other is the parameters optimum. The point is confirming the geometrical parameters make preparation for the design of Torque Convert's blade. The forth chapter is the most important chapter in the dissertation. It introduced the fundamental of the blade design. And gave us several methods.
