This paper expounds the substructure construction process, technics, techniques and quality control of Jinan Yellow River Bridge on Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway. This bridge is one of the most important engineering on Beijing-Xuzhou part of Beijing-Shanghai highspeed railway. And the bridge is located in the narrow watercourse of Yellow River in south of Luxi plain. The types of pier and foundation are recounted as follows: l.the abutments are rectangular; 2.rectangular hollow piers are used in the parts double line simple supported beams and prestress concrete continuous beams, multi-column rectangular piers are used in the parts road intersection beams, rectangular solid piers are used in the parts combination beams, peaked solid piers are used in the parts continuous steel braced girders in main bridge; 3.bored cast-in-place piles are used as approach span foundation, circular open cassions are used in fixed piers of continuous steel braced girders in main bridge, bored cast-in-place piles are used as shifting bearing piers' foundation in main span of right bridge.Among them, the construction difficulties are: bored cast-in-place piles and the caps construction of the 1st and 3rd pier in main bridge; open cassions and the caps construction of the 2nd pier in main bridge; splice of equal height continuous steel braced girders in main bridge. This paper expounds the substructure construction method, technics and so on. Furthermore, the paper introduces emphatically the construction method, technics and technical measures of bored cast-in-place piles and open cassions and the caps. Besides, reasonable suggestions are posed and effective measures are taken on construction which ensures the quality and plan of construction. What this paper expound is a successful experience for other similar bridge engineering construction.
