With the development of our nation, composite structures are used more and more widely.It is impendent that developing a software to help design composite structures. This thesis researches the CAD system for Steel-Concrete composite beams with simple supports which are very common in our construction industry. And the author developed the CAD system for Steel-Concrete composite beams. It is finished under the popular system Windows2000 with advanced development tools MFC,ObjectARX for AutoCAD and so on, which the author used ADO technique to operate SQL Server database. This system includes such parts: projects management, preprocessing, calculating core, postprocessing and forming the computing file.Projects management resolved partial modifying the old projects which made structures be optimized possible and accumulating experience impersonally; Preprocessing was developed with the forms of dialog, which restored the data in the database creating objects for calculating and postprocessing. Caculating kernel was developed according to the effect code of our nation. Postprocessing get data from preprocessing , calculated results and constructing requirements to draw the primary construction drawing. At the last of the thesis, according to an example it concludes that this system reduced the period of designing composite beams and the result meets the requirements of the effective code and civil engineering.lt has some reliability, facility and practicability.
