This paper proposed combine base isolation with frame structure with R.C. special shaped columns. On the one hand, it can reserve the advantage of frame structure with R.C. special shaped columns. On the other hand, it can increase the aseismic performance of structure. This paper make dynamical analysis to the finite element mode of base isolated frame structure with R.C. special shaped columns through ANSYS6.1. Moreover, at the base of mentioned above analytic result, research how to design base isolated frame structure with R.C. special shaped columns,the conclusions are as follows: 1. Base isolated frame structure with R.C. special shaped columns has good aseismic performance; maximum depth-width ratio can extend the terms properly to 3. 2. For base isolated frame structure with R.C. special shaped columns, reduction for stiffness of in-filled wall is different from traditional aseismic structure. 3.This paper suggests: Product standard for seismic-isolator and productive manufacture to offer mechanical parameters for applicability checking calculation of building, correspondingly, base isolation design criteria (code) also offer method and requirement for checking calculation, and meanwhile suggests: we should consider in-filled wall of frame structure with R.C. special shaped columns, crack resistance of joint and experimental investigation result about fracture width, obtain specific requirements about applicability checking calculation of superstructure. 4. For base isolated frame structure with R.C. special shaped columns, except for minority need consider characters of superstructure, mechanical parameters of seismic isolator keep invariable basely.
