In the paper, for the purpose of practical application to study the capability of nonlinear seismic response of reinforced concrete(R.C) special-shaped columns frame construction, this paper used the program of finite element analysis to analysis the dynamical-mode of R.C. special-shaped columns frame construction and contrasted the result with the test result and found that the difference of two kind of input mode of section moment of inertia could change the dynamical-mode of R.C. special-shaped columns frame construction. This made preparations for studding the capability of nonlinear seismic response of reinforced concrete (R.C.) special-shaped columns frame construction.Based on the studying, this paper developed an elastic-plastic program of nonlinear seismic response analysis. In which the whole model of plane substructure considering the spatially coordinating action, element's analytical model and hysteric curve mode of Clough's deteriorating double lines were suggested. Using this program, the elastic -plastic nonlinear seismic response of model structure was calculated. The results were well consistent to those of the test. What's more, the spatially elastic analyses of the model structure were carried out with program of finite element analysis. It showed that the calculating models used in this paper were reasonable.Finally, in order farther to study the nonlinear seismic response of R.C. special-shaped columns frame construction, the R.C. special-shaped column frame residential structures with different number of stories, different size of bays, different ratio of axial compression were analyzed by the program of this paper. The result showed the difference parameters would change the seismic behavior of R.C. special-shaped columns frame construction and this paper also made some useful suggestions about how to decide the parameters in practical application.The sustentation fund from Hunan province' building science and technology project of is received in the process of the paper' study (Number of the fund is 2002-576-50).
