The Rayleigh surface wave prospecting is a new method of the engineering geophysical exploration.It has been widely used in the domains of engineering geological exploration and engineering quality testing, since it is easy and quick to operate and directly gets surface wave velocity relating to the depth of the strata. The method using transient Rayleigh surface wave has advantages of the non-destructive test and good representation to meet the needs of the highly-developed highway engineering. The present method of the Rayleigh wave testing is mainly appropriate to the model of the upper-soft and below-rigid foundation. Because of the different resolutions to the Rayleigh wave dispersion equation and the difficulties of the forward modeling and inversion of the dispersion curve, the relatively national and international researches of the upper-rigid and below-soft foundation highway structure are still at the beginning stage.My thesis conducts relatively deep research and discussion on the application of the transient Rayleigh surface wave method to the highway engineering quality inspecting, which combines the applied research of the transient Rayleigh surface wave method applying to the highway engineering quality inspecting, cooperated by the Henan Province department transportation of traffic and Hunan University. After reading a lot of the national and international relative references, I have done deep research on the basic theory of the Rayleigh wave. Aiming at the upper-soft and below-rigid ground base of highway structure, I adopt two forward modeling algorithm of the quick Knopoff and the improve Abo-Zena, and two inversion of genetic algorithm and equivalent homegenous half-space to conduct the forward modeling and inversion research on the Rayleigh wave dispersion curve, and make four kind algorithm computer programme. According to calculation results of the theoretical model, my thesis compares the proper range and advantages and disadvantages of the four algorithm, theoretically realizes the combination of the forward modeling and inversion of the quick knopoff and genetic algorithm, and confirms the equivalent homegenous half-space method as the counting method that the text calculates inversion of the Rayleigh wave dispersion curve.For obtaining the comparatively exact and real dispersion curve, I have done the relative research on the testing principle of the Rayleigh wave method, which emphasizes the drawing question of the Rayleigh wave dispersion curve.
