With rapid progress of national economy and advance of industrial and cities level, evolution on HVAC system and air-conditioning style have been imperious and essential to building containable development for the sake of energy efficiency, environment protection and equipment automatization. The appearance and development of VAV (Variable Air Volume) system are dominant in modern building energy saving work, of which these research work also regarded and carried out gradually.This paper reviews basic theory and latest research work on VAV system and duct supply air according to the existing literatures, and consequently potential value in use and feasibility in projects are suggested on novel air loop ducts which seldom are employed in research work and actual projects. Experimental models of loop ducts are introduced for supply air and a series of experiments are done. The analysis shows that the novel air supply system has following advantages, namely easy balancing at varying air volumes, simple controlling on static pressure, and economical functioning etc., which is hoped to give references on higher efficiency of HVAC systems.The conclusion of this article induced the testing research work, and insufficient aspects were discussed while some steps were suggested accordingly. It is expected to afford reference for deeper air duct loop research and application work.
