Compared to other machine types, Switched Reluctance Motor(SRD) offers an excellent balance between cost, reliability, power density and high speed capability. Now it widely applies to aviation and automobile, Qua electromotor , its start-trait is one of the key techniques; In addition it became complex and poor reliable with position sensor. So in this paper we mostly study start-trait and position - sensorless of SRM.Firstly , the basic theory of switched reluctance motor is discussed in detail and study of the mathematical models of inductance and flux ,start-torque, average-torque on linear and nonlinear is derived. And based on Matlab/Simulink , the dynamic start-trait of SRM. is simulated.Secondly , the indirect rotor-position detecting is analyzed, the indirect position detecting techniques of simplified flux method with energy optimizing is studied .And the turn-on and turn-off angle on energy optimizing of the SRM torque maximum at different rotate speed. is simulate.Finally, the software and hardware of SRD on F240'DSP was contrived , and the torque-angle trait of the 12/10 switched reluctance motor was measured ,and the position signal and the commutation phase signal of the position sensor and the position - sensorless was compared, and the experiment of SRM was done on full turn-on and turn-off angle and current chopping control.
