This article focuses on the application of Q450NQR1 high strength anti-corrosion steel in manufacturing of railway rolling stocks. And the test methods and results of the Q450NQR1 high strength anti-corrosion steel in application of rolling stocks is discussed during the performance of punching, pressing and welding. The processes of punching, pressing and welding as defined in this article are all based on the practical tests in actual production. This article puts its emphasis on regular processes of punching, pressing and welding for the performance of Q450NQR1 high strength anti-corrosion steel in manufacturing of rolling stocks. Firstly, a lot of regular punching process tests, such as cutting and punching test, sheet leveling test, bending performance test, and typical forming test (forming of bottom door and tub cylindrical plates) are carrying out. In order to understanding the punching and pressing performance of Q450NQR1 high strength anti-corrosion steel and satisfying the requirement of C76 special coal wagon in the stage of technical preparation, and to establish the right punching and press process based on existing machinery. Secondly, welding materials are selected accordingly through these welding process tests, and suitable process parameters are defined, which helps the steel structure of C76 special coal wagon be welded successfully. Thirdly, batch production is realized through the researching of the technical performance of Q450NQR1 high strength anti-corrosion steel, as well as the considering the structure features, basic dimension and performance data of the C76 special coal wagon, production plan is established reasonably. This article provides the theoretical base on the punching, press and welding process of Q450NQR1 high strength anti-corrosion steel in application of rolling stocks, and points out the direction for rolling stocks to use high strength steel with higher yield limit for manufacturing.
