As the increase of the number of the Concrete Face Rock-fill Dam in recent years in our country, the design and construction level are updated thereupon, some new designs and construction methods are emerging constantly, make its popularization previous pieces of step, since the introducing of the concrete crushing-type side wall technology in 2000. as its characteristic of simplifying the construction process, offering a solid support and enhancing the safety of the dam when in flood period, it has been gotten an application among some projects, but it as one new technology , still a lot of questions existing in theoretical and construction need to make further demonstration. Because of this, this paper took Bajiaohe First-class dam as an example, has summarized its some characteristics in construction, management, and use the software ANSYS, calculate the stress and strain of dam body and face slab in construction and storage time, then analyzed the result of calculation, and got a helpful conclusion.Bajiaohe First-class reservoir adopts the CFRD as its blocking water building, reservoir dam-site present " S " shape river, " V " shape narrow dark river valley, two sides high steep bank slope, and concrete crushing-type side wall technology etc. The calculated part regards the dam body and face slab as the main research object in the article, uses ANSYS and itsprogrammable characteristic (UPFs) to carry on the secondary development of Dencan-Chang constitutive model and mid-point increment method, the contact between face slab and side wall was emulated by ANSYS node-to-surface contact method, basing on this, calculated the stress and strain of dam body and face slab in construction and storage time, and analyzed its influence, finally provided a numerical calculation result for side wall's optimization of design and construction.This paper introduces the unique slab split defending methods, slab building methods and on-the-spot management style etc. In addition, also introduces the construction method of concrete crushing-type side wall, and carries on an analysis of technological and economical benefits to the construction of side wall from many respects: such as the project cost and indirect benefit etc., think its economic benefits are obvious. The research results of this subject have certain reference value to these questions such as crushing side-wall's construction> keeping the face slab from split and dam body sectional form etc. In addition, this paper's computing methods and relevant conclusions about crushing side-wall are helpful references to the settlement of similar engineering problems.
