Directing at the influence of the steam velocity field at the condenser inlet on its performance and the turbine's exhaust pressure, research on aerodynamic property of the whole exhaust passage and velocity field at its outlet (i.e. the inlet of the condenser) were done with numerical simulating combined with modeling test by taking the China-made 300MW steam turbine for instances. Its unreasonable velocity field is presented and the optimal retrofitting scheme to the exhaust passage is provided to get a relative reasonable velocity field. And the variation of the heat transfer coefficient, steam resistance of the condenser and the vacuum pump's inlet pressure after retrofitting were analyzed and the conclusion is drawn that reasonable velocity field can enhance the condenser's performance apparently, which provides reference for condenser's design, retrofitting and performance study.
