The accuracy of power frequency parameters of transmission line has huge effect on power system calculations and even the stability of operation. So actual measurement of parameters is of great importance. In this paper, a mathematical model of transmission line is put forward based on thorough analysis of various measurement methods at present. The theory and technique of online parameter measurement using data of both ends are studied. Coupling transmission line principle is applied to parallel transmission lines measurement, which is always hard to be done. Based on this principle, strict analysis and mathematical derivation are carried out, and a set of formula is worked out at the mean time. Emulation tests are done. Finally, the calculation software application of power transmission line measurement is developed by VC++ programming language. This program can communicate with single chip microcomputer. And use the received data for calculation to work out the parameters needed.
