Recent years, with the improvement of people's living standard and consciousness of environmentalism, there is an increasing trend to use electric-bicycle rather than autobike. Although conventional DC motor always takes up dominant station in driving system, its mechanical commutator and brush result in limited capability, low reliability, big noise. People manage to develope more quiet, high efficiency and reliability, big capability driving motor. With the development of the power-electronics and micro-control technique, permanent-magnet brushless DC motor which has small volume, light weight, high efficiency, low noise, big capability and reliability appeared and matured, so it is hopeful to become main motor applied in electric-bicycle.This dissertation presents a solution to control a permanent-magnet brushless DC motor using TMS320LF2407A. This new family of DSP enables cost-effective design of intelligent controllers for brushless motors which can fulfill more conditions, consisting of fewer system components, lower system cost and increased performances.
