Modern automobile is the preferred vehicle of people, for its high speed, comfortable and safety. Along with the condition of transportation and road ameliorate continuously, the run-speed of automobile has been increasing continuously also. The driving safety is pushed to the firstly important position. There are many factors affecting the safety of automobile, but in these factors braking performance and automobile operational stability are the main ones, and the two are both relation relative to the automobile suspension. As an important device, the automobile suspension influenced car's various usage performance. The location of its damp component and absorber is between the axle and the body. The basic mission of the automobile suspension is to insure vehicle run smoothly and safety, say in a specific way is to prevent the body over big or over long playing horizontal swing, fast attenuate the vibrancy arisen by road, reduce the impact that the body suffered. Therefore, the automobile suspension whether break down or not will affect directly the usage performance of cars necessarily. The automobile usage process is placed in complicated variable environment, bear every kind of stress, such as the exterior environment stress, internal function stress and movement stress. Furthermore the automobile's technical condition will variety with the different regulation and the different intensity such as the depravation of the function, caused by the different structure of the car, assembly and parts etc. and the different usage such as road, weather, usage-intensity and run-condition, which is same to the characteristics of suspension such as rigidity, damp, suspension mass and non-suspension mass etc, especially to the absorbers of automobile. The function depravation of absorber will affects the dynamic adhesion condition of wheels and ground directly, and which affect directly the safety of cars. Therefore, proceeded to detect the automobile suspension fleetly without disassembly, discovering the hidden trouble early have got the count for much meaning of the safety. However the current test-beds of automobile suspension performance are still not complete, and with some shortages, such as the import equipment in addition to price expensive, all of them can't run in the LAN of the test-line. In domestic there is although a handful of factories having started the production of such equipments, but all of them, the detect period is long, the detect accuracy is low and the suspension in the same axle can't be detected independently etc. Therefore digest and absorb the advanced technique in abroad, research and manufacture the productions which are suitable for the situation of our country, are also very necessary. This paper adopted the wheel earthing index as the parameters, which are used to valuate the performance of the automobile suspension. The wheel earthing index is a ratio of the least wheel earthing force and the static wheel earthing force, also we have discussed its rationality. Because the wheel earthing index is just a percent, considering it purely will not have any meaning. There must be an evaluation standard to make out the relation between the wheel earthing index and the automobile suspension performance. This paper also analyzed contrastively two evaluation standards which are applied extensively: EUSAMA standard which is constituted by the European Manufactory Association and JT/T448-2001 recommend standard which is constituted by the Ministry of Transportation. Through analyzing the two standards and discovered their meanings are same. Their evaluation parameters are both opposite ratio, which do away with the different influence in design of every kind of vehicle, and make the evaluation of different kind of vehicles, can be compared with each other. This paper researched and analyzed the current the detective methods of the automobile suspension, and expatiated their merits and shortcomings. From the actual conditions of the automobile suspension test-bed, we established the free mechanics model and the mathematics model of the "car & test-bed"system, which provided academic gist for the research and design of the automobile suspension.
