It has been very long to the application of gravity wharf. It is in 1958,the square wharf with relief board was first used. This structure of gravity wharf is suit to fine ground base such as rock, sand, pebble, gravel and hard clay soil, which is used widely in coastal harbors from south to north in China. For example Huangpu harbor in Guangzhou,Zhanjiang Harbor,Xiamen Harbor, Qindao Harbor, Yantan harbor, Qinghuangdao Harbor and Dalian Harbor.It is also used widely in river harbor.The structure type of gravity wharf is mianly determined to wall structure. At the present time, checking calculation to stability of wall structure depends on theoretical calculation and computer simulation mainly, stress condition of field an not be reflected. So centrifugal model test is used for deeper study. Technique of centrifugal model test began in 1931,it has superiority in field analogue, numeric verification, mechanics study and so on. So after Philip Bucky, from Columbia University, used centrifugal machine to analyze integrity of underground tunnels successfully for the first time. Technique of centrifugal model is developed rapidly. Centrifugal model test is better greatly than general model test to soil especially, which has osculation in mechanical property and stress level. Technique of centrifugal model is approval widely in geotechnical engineering field. In China, technique of centrifugal model first used to settle the practical problem in engineering is in slumping analysis of Shenzhen Wuwan wharf. Test result matches to field condition, and cause of slumping is found. Now technique of centrifugal model is widely used in every study region. The base of this paper is the study and application state of gravity wharf ,centrifugal model test principle and its application. By use of centrifugal model test, the emphasis study is soil pressure in top wall and bedding in large square gravity wharf, deflection in wharf block and ground setting on back ground to wall. And regularity conclusion is achieved. After comparison to pressure to back of wharf block, deflection in wharf block and ground setting of three groups program soil in different water levels and different work conditions. We find when acceleration comes to 100 times of gravity, varied regular of soil pressure value in soil back to wharf block above topping surface of bedding in every program is basic identical. Soil pressure value in upward side of relief board is larger than that in downward. The varied regular of soil pressure in top surface and base surface is not conform. Varied regular of soil pressure in program one agrees to code and is fine to stability. Through comparison to value of actual measurement and Reckon theory, values of actual measurement soil pressure by sensors embed in wharf block are conformed to theory values.
