In this paper, pushover analysis method and random vibration method are introduced into the analysis of Elasto-plastic Seismic Response of steel frame. By means of calculating example, shear deformation of joint and second order effect which affect mechanical performance of structure ,seismic design and dynamical reliability of steel frame are investigated in this paper. In chapter two, the element stiffness matrix of steel frame which considered shear deformation of joint ,second order effect and nonlinear property of material is deduced. And then, the structure is simplified as a series of mass points by static condensation method. In chapter three, shear deformation of joint and second order effect which affect mechanical performance of structure by pushover method are investigated, pushover method is also combined with response spectra to study the influence on seismic resistance design in this chapter. In chapter four, equivalent viscous damp and equivalent stiffness are obtained by using equivalent linearized method ; in this base, mode decomposition method of elasto-plastic stochastic seismic response of steel frame is presented in this paper. And then, complex mode method is introduced into analysis of stochastic seismic response of steel frame. The method which can obtain response statistics of steel frame under non-stationary seismic excitation. At last, the dynamical reliability of steel frame by using low cycle fatigue criteria is investigated in this paper. The research and calculating example of this paper show that:(1)Shear deformation of joint and second order effect would decrease lateral stiffness and increase lateral displacement of structure. These two factors should be considered in seismic resistance design by using pushover method.(2)Shear deformation of joint and second order effect would increase failure probability , and decrease seismic resistance reliability of steel frame.
