Instruments wheelset is the most important component of vehicle bogie and the mostly factor of vehicle running safety. Wheel/rail force testing is the very important tache of vehicle dynamics theory and practice, instruments wheelset is the most direct and exactest measure of wheel/rail force testing. Using instruments wheelset as the force sensor to test wheel/rail force has the maximal precision of all wheel/rail force testing measures. When evaluating vehicle dynamics performance and wheel/rail abrading and doing digression experiment study, instrumentswheelset can not be superseded by any other.The theory of instruments wheelset wheel/rail loads continuous measurement technique was analyzed in this thesis. The traditional measurement is install test circuit bridge, the common bridge mode is sine-cosine wave bridge and triangle wave bridge. The shortcoming of the present instrumented wheelset are follows:1)the test bridge is not easily changed once the circuit bridge is installed, so it is very difficult to ensure that the circuit bridge is optimal. 2) Demarcated test has to be done before the instrumented wheelset come into use. Accurate test of vertical loaded demarcation can now be realized in laboratory. As for the horizontal load, we can't demarcate it accurately because it is hard to exert a horizontal load on tread. About the coupling of vertical and horizontal load is unable to forecast too. A method based on computer simulation is presented, the optimal circuit bridge combination and the best position of stick strain piece are found through the calculation about a instrumented wheelset. Horizontal load demarcation test which can be realized in laboratory is now obtained satisfactory by using computer simulation method. Real wheel/rail force computation method has also been presented in this paper on considering about the coupling of vertical and horizontal load.
