The measurement of the wheel/rail contact force has great significance on vehicle dynamics, the wheel rail contact theory, derailment mechanism and the train operation safety detection. With the rapid development of the railway in China, the train running mileage are increasing and the running speed of train become faser and faser. Since these situations, the derailment accident become more and more numerous, in order to solve the problem the measurement of wheel/rail contact force become more and more important to us. The instrumented wheelset measurement method of wheel rail force is the most direct, accurate, therefore it has become the main method of wheel rail force measurement. The instrumented wheelset is divided into two ways.The method based on axle stress instrumentation and the method based on wheel web instrumentation. The method based on axle stress instrumentation is easy and low cost, but it has a greater errors, and the method based on wheel web instrumentation is hard to achieve and have a higher cost. This paper obtains a method that based on both axle stress and wheel web stress to measuring the lateral force and the vertical force. The paper made the following works:1. Analysised the advantages and disadvantages of the methods of instrumented wheelset in GB5599-85, and then offering a new method of instrumented wheelset.2. Isolating the signal does not need from the measured signal by Low past filtering. And Measured the wheel angle and wheel rail contact point via the axle dynamic stress.3. Take bridge on the web plate, then by using the wheel angle and wheel rail contact point that have already known to eliminate the corresponding effects, then measuring the wheel rail lateral force and vertical force by a linear equations;4. Verifying the correctness of corresponding methods by using finite element verification;5. Actual analyzing the data with the data acquisition board based on STM32and PS081chip and made the error analysis.
