In the designing of the geotechnical engineering, in the circumstance that in different geology conditions, different soil strata, different pile types and different loads characters, the safe degree of the pile foundation is different even using the same safe coefficient in the design. Because that the basic factors affecting the safe degree of the design, such as loads and resisting forces, are not determined values, but random values. The safe degree can't reflect the reliability correctly. Taking advantage of the present reliability analyzing methods, analyze the reliability of the pile foundation designing of the Yiheng plant main machine house. By mathematic method, at the basic of the first-order second-moment method, calculate the reliability index, which reflect the reliability degree of the pile foundation design. And also by means of finite element method, at the basic of the Monte Carlo Simulation, analyze the reliability of the design. The two methods are relatively complemented. Analyzing the reliability of the pile foundation designing in mathematic method,the reliability index β can be work out, which prescribe the reliability of the pile foundation designingquantitatively and reflect the reliability of the whole design. By means of finite element method, the different affections of the factors on the design are found and the most significant factor is showed. The result of the mathematical analyze of the design reliability reflect the whole reliability; while the FEM work out the different affections of the factors on the design and find the factors with most affections on reliability, and as a result the reliability will be emoted with the least cost, by controlling the key factors.
