Highlighting the mottos of "the green Olympics, the humanistic Olympics and the scientific and technology Olympics", Beijing has succeeded in its bidding for the 29th Olympic games in 2008. The success has brought about rare opportunities for the development of China's sports industry as well as sports architecture industry. In terms of sports architecture design, China has been thoroughly experienced in structure model, shape, function, technology, etc of sports architecture. In addition to remarkable achievements, the country has also established relatively complete and comprehensive system of sports architecture design. In the thesis, the author ventures to put forward the concept of "green sports architecture", which is based on the traditional sports architecture design system and absorbs some reasonable ideas of "green architecture"design. The author conducts studies of resource utilization, energy saving, environment, climate, function sustainability, etc, with the aim to fulfill the scientific concept of sustainable development. Integrating the domestic and foreign engineering strength, the author focuses on the studies of natural ventilation, natural lighting, architecture energy saving, etc. As well as the new development of sports architecture, the green sports architecture is the new deepening of green architecture. The thesis restricts the main study scope to the following two parts: In the first part, the author integrally discusses about the main connotation, basic theories and basic strategies of green sports architecture.
