A new kind of Heat Pump Water Heater with PCM (Phase Change Materials) for thermal storage is introduced in this paper. It combines the advantage of heat pump energy supply and latent thermal energy storage which can be used for discontinuous hot water supply.Designed the preheating thermal storage structure. During the heating process, the water will be preheated in the Thermal Storage heat exchanger and then heated in the condenser of heat pump. The outlet water temperature will increase to the setting value at last. The capacity of immediate heat supply will increase due to the latent Thermal Energy Storage technology and the compressor start-stop frequency will decrease accordingly.The steady state simulation model is built and the heat exchange process is simplified which make the system simulation much more easy.An experimental apparatus has been built and run well. According to the analysis of the experiment result in different test conditions, the performance of heat pump water heat is reviewed and the energy saving character is testified.The problems coming up in the experiment are summarized which is helpful to the further improvement of system design. |
