Rationing is a key process to the gold industry, but nowadays manual rationing is ineffective, time and energy consuming which impedes the further development of the enterprise and can not meet the requirement of companies. Auto-burdening rationing system was widely used in various industries. But no auto-burdening rationing system for gold is available due to high precision, narrow weighting range, real-time, and special purpose of the system. To improve working efficiency, lower costs, and to realize manufacturing automation and scientific management, it is crucial to construct the gold auto-burdening rationing system.The system was established with the employment of Distributed Control System (DCS), which has advantages of centered management and distributed operations and was adopted by most of the process control domains. To reach the design target, the following measures were taken: Multi-working-position working collaboratively and classified bead gold were employed to attain the system's high-precision measuring within rather short period; Predictive control algorithm was applied to compensate the nonlinear delay of vibration feeding; Servo motor drive was used to accurate feeding of thread gold; CAN bus communication was adopted to accomplish the working concertedly of working positions and reliable communication between upper and lower computers; Software and hardware of upper and lower computerswere devised. Applications in a banknote printing company show that the system reaches accuracy of -10~0mg with 200 times per minute in measuring range of 10~1000g, which is highly evaluated by the users of the company and keeps ahead domestically.Firstly, the dissertation concerns about the scheme design of the system. Then, it covers the detail design and implement of the system, which includes mechanical, electric, electronic module design and control process of six working position (i.e. brick gold feeding, bead gold coarse burdening, bead gold accurate burdening, thread gold coarse burdening, thread gold accurate burdening, gold discharge), bead gold classification and revolving workbench. Furthermore, it also discusses working mechanism, data acquisition and selection of the weighting scale; mechanical structure and electric control of bead gold feeding machine; mathematical modeling, predictive control algorithm, and contrast analysis between experimental and simulation data; the design of running monitoring and control software, and communication software.The running of the system is stable and burdening ration is accurate at high speed. Applications of the system in the company reduce the working intension of workers and improve working efficiency, which lays the foundations of manufacturing automation and integrated management of the whole enterprise.
