In the engineering background, the new tower of Beijing Airport is chosen. The wind resist property of the tall and slender structure is researched on under wind load.1) The aeroelastic model dynamic experiment of the new tower of Beijing airport A 1/60 scaled aeroelastic model is tested. And the acceleration time history valueat the different height under wind load is researched on. The RMS acceleration curve along the tower is derived. The along-wind acceleration response is known in the time domain.2) The rigidity model manometric experiment of the new tower of Beijing airport Depending on the 1/80 scaled rigidity model manometric experiment, the lawthat the wind pressure coefficient changes along the height is derived. Base on the published data and the rigidity model manometric experiment data, this dissertation presents a change law of RMS lift coefficient. From the theory side, the across wind vibration of the octagon tall and slender tower is researched on and the vibration theory is discussed.By aid of structural damp theory, the integral damping ratio of the composite structures which include two different materials are derived according to energy conservation principle.3) The computer simulation of the wind-induced response of the new tower of Beijing airportThe finite element software is adopted to establish a 3-dimensional new tower finite element model of Beijing Airport. Through the output stiffness matrix and the quantity matrix, the 2-dimensional multi-degree of freedom system is established which has the same mechanics function as the 3-dimensional finite element model. The calculation shows that the difference of the first 5 modes between the 2-dimensional multi-degree of freedom system and the 3-dimensional finite element model is less than 4.6%. Using FFT to workout a wind load simulation program. The computer simulation of the stochastic wind field is achieved. The 16-dimensional random process is got. The dynamic response analysis is performed with Wilson-θ method. The results show the request of the code of China and normal use can be satisfied under wind load.At last the property of the tower under wind load is summarized. And this dissertation presents some questions which should be paid attention to in the wind resist design, providing the reference to the engineering practice.
