As an important component to transport propellant, turbopump has a higher fault probability than other components of Liquid-propellant Rocket Engines (LRE). If there are faults, it will affect the operation of the rocket engine seriously, and even damage the whole engine. In order to ensure the operation of the LRE ground firing-tests, it is necessary to develop a reliable turbopump health monitoring system. In this paper the turbopump health monitoring and data management technology were investigated. The main contents of this paper include:(1) After the analysis of the LRE ground firing-test process and turbopump structure, the framework and functions of Turbopump Health Monitoring System (TP-HMS) were designed, the TP-HMS hardware subsystem based on PXI bus and local Ethernet was built, and the framework of TP-HMS software was proposed.(2) The framework and approaches of turbopump post test data analysis were presented. Using the traditional time domain features of vibration signals, the turbopump history test data were analyzed, and based on the results some conclusions were drawn.(3) Based on the analysis of data management characteristics of TP-HMS, the theory and approaches of real-time database were investigated. Combining the real-time database with the traditional disk relational database, the health-monitoring database supporting system was developed.(4) The laboratory prototype system of health monitoring was built, and its function was tested and validated by the experimental rig of rubbing rotor in the laboratory. The experimental results show that the system has the ability of online fault detection, post test data analysis and data management. It will be a useful supporting system for increasing the reliability of the LRE ground firing-tests in the future.
