| In order to propagate the charged particle beam smoothly through subtle medium without diffusing too much,we let it propagate through an plasma channel made by powerful laser beam in the medium. We hope the electric magnetic field of the plasma channel could neutralize the electric magnetic field of the charged particle beam so as to harness the charged particle beam during the propagation.We mainly study the charged particle beams with linear distributions.By researching the forces the particles undertake,we shall have the equation of the including line of the particle beam.Then we can calculate it on the computer and tell exactly how the whole things work.We then can optimize the effect of the plasma channel.A Fokker-Planck equation is derived to study the evolution of a stable electron beam propagating in a gas-plasma medium.Small-angle scattering of the beam particles by the medium causes diffusion in the phase space projected transverse to the direction of propagation. The projected components of dynamical friction vanish. As a result,there is a continued input of energy into thetransverse particle motions,which is taken up in expansion against the pinch field.We use the Virial equation and the Fokker-Planck equation to study this phenomenon,and with the computer simulate the procedure. |
