The Electric Performance Testing System Based On Computer For Self-Regulating Heating Cable

The self-regulating heating cable is a ideal heating component and is called as the advanced technology product with the value of scientific research and application. It can adjust heating power according to environments. So, it is used widely in petroleum, chemistry and civil fields. Now, there are lots of the products and manufacturers in our country. Their testing method to self-regulating heating cables is manual and not advanced, especially at medium and small sized enterprises. With the development of basic material technologies, self-regulating heating cables will be applied broadly. So, it is necessary to develop a regular and automotive testing system for it. A testing system for self-regulating heating cable is developed in this paper, which can measure the power, voltage and temperature of 5 samples at the same time. This system is composed of hardware and software. The hardware includes the box for samples, sensors, a data collection board and a computer. The function of the box supply an adjusted condition for samples. The functions of sensors are respectively testing voltages, powers and temperatures of samples. The data collecting board can collect analog signals and convert them to digital signals. The process, display and storage of data are completed with the computer. Every part of the hardware is carefully selected and researched. Compiling programme to data collecting board is mainly task of software. The functions of the software are to controll the data collecting board and process data etc. The experiments have testified the fact that the testing system is exact , automatic and easilly operated. The development of this measuring system present a wise choice for small and medium manufactures of Self-regulating heating cable.
