| With the development of society and economy,football sport business is thriving.As a result,sports turfs are increasing.On the other hand,There is a great demand for evergreen lawn for landscape in metropolis.Because of the cold weather in winter,turfs always subject to low temperature and turns a tan straw color.Taking measures to prevent ground from freezing and keep grass living has a high value in practice and brings a public benefit. Studies are conducted on melting snow and keeping green by electric cable heating system on Beijing sports turf in winter, grass seed selection, and turf soil temperature field. The objective of these work is to optimize the electric cable heating system, i.e. determine optimum values of the following variables: the electric power, the depth and span of heating cables, as well as the operating conditions to produce the best energy and economic efficiency. Adopting the method of combining numerical simulation and test, a model is devised of the turf electric cable heating system. Numerical simulation uses specific initial conditions and boundary conditions provided by the test. The simulated results are validated experimentally. Using the validated model, simulates the turf soil temperature of different conditions, obtains the optimum parameters of electric cable heating system in Beijing. Adopting an electric cable heating system in conjunction with plastic screen,studies the turf soil temperature. In cold weather in Beijing,from 2004.11 to 2005.3,measured the following items: â‘ Ground surface temperature,soil temperature at depths of 10cm,20cm,30cm,50cm from ground surface; â‘¡Atmosphere temperature; â‘¢Temperature of cable surface; â‘£the energy consumption of electric cable heating system; During the whole winter,the grass keeps living and retains green,owing to the good performance in heat preservation of the electric cable heating system.
