Ancient architectures in China have formed widely different style compared with Occident architecture, through the five-thousand-year development of culture. However, there are many difficulties and some limitable conditions in the course of the research on scientific research of ancient architecture, because of special structural materials and tectonic modes of ancient architecture, which makes that datum of scientific research of ancient architecture be less than them of historical and artistic research of ancient architecture.Based on extensive investigation of construction technique history of Chinese ancient buildings, and the timber and rampart of Xi'an east city gate in China, through a series methods of numerical value simulation, this paper analyzes a special sort system of Chinese timberwork and brick structure. In the meantime, this paper researches on the formed history of timberwork and brick structure, the procession of development evolvement, basic structural principle, construct mode and the intention of structural function. Its work is as follows:This paper is the elastoplastic finite element numerical analysis on the timber and rampart of Xi'an east city gate. The mostly work are that ancient timber structures and rampart structures are coupled by nodes as a integrated study object, according to mechanics analysis and scientific predigestion of ancient architecture, and combined the programmer of finite element analysis ANSYS. At first, it proved that structuraldestruct is not material yield but tenon joint apart. Second, it discussed the former ten steps of the structural inhere frequency of the linear mode analysis. At last, it studieddynamic respond characteristics under the effect of 200 gal and 300 gal earthquake.In a word, these theoretic datum have theoretic sense and applied value in engineering, through elastoplastic finite element on the timber and rampart of Xi'an east city gate...
