Because of good mechanical performance, concrete-filled steel tube structures have been used for hundreds years in civil engineering.At present, the section types of concrete-filled steel tube included square shape and circular shape. The circular section concrete-filled steel tube structures have good performance because of uniform restraint of concrete provided by circular steel tube. The treatment of connection of square section concrete-filled steel tube structures is relatively easy. The advantage of circle section and square section concrete-filled steel tube are absorbed by the multibarrel tube-confined concrete structure. In this paper, the axial compressive experiments, eccentric compressive experiments were performed on nineteen multibarrel tube-confined concrete specimens with various shape and size. Compared the experimental results with the analytical results obtained by finite element method and good agreement can be found.1. The axial compressive experiments, eccentric compressive experiments were performed on short multibarrel tube-confined concrete columns. The axial compressive experiments were conducted on long multibarrel tube-confined concrete columns. The influences of parameter of circular steel tube(thickness, diameter and yield strength) on the capacities of columns are investigated.2. The eccentric compressive experiments are conducted on concrete-filled double skin steel tubular columns. The influences of parameter of circular steel tube(thickness, diameter and yield strength) on the capacities of columns are studied.3. The capacities of short multibarrel tube-confined concrete columns are also analyzed by ANSYS. Compared the results of the finite element method and the test results and good agreement can be found.
