Automatic Duct-Piece-Consolidation equipment is one part of TBM, and the design and research on it has not carried out in our country. In this article, the structural design of automatic duct-piece-consolidation was mainly finished in CATIA software environment , then analyzed it by FEM. At last, practiced dynamic simulation by utilizing ADAMS software. All these process carried on beneficial exploration on the development method of new product. The main accomplished work are as follows:1) Analyzed technological process of duct-piece-consolidation to determine its function which should be accomplished.2) Established prototype of duct-piece-consolidation equipment in CATIA software, and carried out detailed structural design.3) Calculated stress and deformation of it by FEM to check strength, rigidity and stability of designed structure.4) practiced dynamic simulation in ADAMS software to analyze its dynamic performance, to provide evidence for subsequent detailed design.Originality1) The duct-piece-consolidation equipment of symmetrical balanced constructionis suitable for large-diameter tunnel, its structure is different from existing duct-piece-consolidation equipment.2) Established prototype of duct-piece-consolidation equipment and practiced analysis in CATIA. Then imported 3D solid model established in CATIA into ADAMS to practiced dynamic simulation. The whole process carried on beneficial exploration on the new method of mechanical design.
