With rapid development of national economy, public buildings with its structure in the form of large-span and large-space, as well as industrial factories are getting more and more needed in cities. Large-area cast-in-place slab structure draws more and more attentions. Some engineering instances are introduced to expain that the phenomenon of cast-in-place slab with large-area cracks is very common, and temperature stress is the main factor for consideration in this type of design. Quality questions caused by cracks manifold correspondingly. Temperature response analysis and crack controlling technique of cast-in-place slab with large-area are probed in this paper. First the research actuality of temperature stress is summed up in this paper. The emergence mechanism is discussed and the variety of temperature cracks is probed. Simplified model is introduced to calculate space and width of cracks of cast-in-place slab with large-area caused by temperature. Then the theories of temperature field and finite element are introduced briefly. ANSYS is used to analyze cast-in-place with large-area for finite element analysis. And stress field of cast-in-place slab with large-area is calculated, the stress rule and the stress characteristics of cast-in-place slab with large-area subjected to all kinds of temperature effects are summarized. The check results are compared with calculated results. Finally in this paper the methods of crack controlling of cast-in-place slab with large-area in several aspects, such as frame design, concrete material and construction techniques are summed up. CFRP is used to improve the bearing capacity of the damaged slab, and its reliability is calculated. Some aspects are given for deeply r esearch.
