Element-Free Method (EFM) is a new numerical method, which has simple, definite form and can achieve highly accurate solution. The approximated solution isobtained by Moving Least Square Method (MLS). EFM requires only the definition of aset of nodes distributed over the entire analysis region without element. This papersystematically expounds the basic theory of EFM, importantly introduces the treatmentof boundary and interface conditions, and deeply discusses the factors which may affectthe calculation precision. Based the theoretical formulae and implement technology oftwo-dimensional EFM, the three-dimensional (3D) EFM equations are derived. TheEFM program about the 3D static electromagnetic field is implemented successfully inMATLAB environment. Compared with the finite element method (FEM), the resultsshow that EFM satisfies the precision, and also simplifies the pre-disposal process.
