The objects, purposes and means of seepage numerical analysis of hydraulic engineering are becoming more and more complicated. Nowadays, the analysis results serve not only for the design but also for the construction and operation of the hydro project. Meanwhile, the users of the analysis software are extended from researchers to designers and even to site constructor. So, exploiting a practical software system of seepage numerical analysis of hydraulic engineering is an important task which reserve to grope.Mainly based on mixed-language programming with Fortran and Visual Basic, the software of seepage numerical analysis of hydraulic engineering is exploited which has high computational efficiency and friendly user interfaces. The interfaces and the simulations of the finite element mesh dissection and the Monte-Carlo graphic result of crack network are also included in this software system. The most important function and the core of the software is that it can be used to deal with two dimension and three dimension finite element seepage analysis in continuous medium)and numerical analysis of steady and unsteady seepage through fracture network. Besides, the contour of the water head can be completed by using the surfer 8.0 software and the simulated results.The basic means of exploiting the software of seepage numerical analysis of hydraulic engineering is: Visual Basic is used to design the interface of the alternating man and machine which can produce data to input into interface and automatic create the original data file that is needed to FORTRAN program calculation. Besides, the output of calculative result by FORTRAN program also can be obtained in the software. FORTRAN language, which has strong calculative power, takes charge the calculation part of seepage numerical analysis wholly. The link between them is that VB transfer the executable file produced by FORTRAN directly. The method is easy to operate and propitious to be read-in other calculation program. Meanwhile, the method can not only uses the accumulated calculation program well by fore-designer, but also can exploits internet applications that are used expediently and has friendly interface on the basis.Lastly, using a tailing dam and numerical analysis of unsteady seepage through fracture network in rock mass as engineering example, (the version 1.0)of seepage numerical analysissoftware is validated in finite element and the fracture network simulations of seepage numerical analysis.
