The Olympic Games are worldwide sports pageant nowadays which are the biggest in scale, the broadest in scope and the highest in level. Beijing succeeded in the bid for the 2008 Olympic Games. This has demonstrated 11 million Beijing people's steady and unremitting pursue to the Olympics, and meanwhile also has reflected the national various races people's wish and hope. "Technical Olympics, green Olympics, humanistic Olympics " these three great conceptions as well as the modern sports' socializations and industrialization are all set a new request to the Olympic Games facilities' construction. But during the stadium design process, we are frequently worried about how to design an innovative project, which not only satisfies the complex function during the Olympics, but also benefits the comprehensive utilization after the match.This paper's topic is on the sports hall design during the match as well as the comprehensive utilization after the match. Taking all the previous Olympic Games sports halls and 2008 Beijing Olympic Games' as the research object, setting the inquisitional materials as the foundation;using the way of analysis and induction;proposing the main problem and phenomenon;and carrying on the analysis from deeper level theory, the author promulgates the new request that modern sports' socializations and industrialization ask for the Olympics sports halls' construction, and explores how to satisfy the requirements of sports hall design during the match and after it by conducting research to the Olympics sports hall design. Finally, with the in body participation of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games' ping pong ball sports hall (the Peking University sports hall) design, the author explains all the above conclusions.The full text mainly divides into four parts: foreword, previous, backward and the conclusion. The foreword introduce partially to the paper research background, question proposing, the research significance and the objective, the research content, as well as the research main method of the research work. Previous for the theory, divides into two parts that are design during match and utilization after match. Through carrying on crosswise and longitudinal alternation to the Chinese and foreign Olympic Games sports hall design and the operation situations compares, the author enumerates the typical examples to conduct the analysis and thus make a theoretic conclusion on the Olympics sports hall design during the match as well as the comprehensive utilization after the match. Concrete to the Olympic Games sports hall's design of concept and image, competition and warming up pitch, function zoning, seating and sightline, special Olympics, the multi-purpose utilization with the sustainable development consideration as well as the operation pattern to conduct the research analysis and the theory summary. Backward for the practice,specifically using 2008 Beijing Olympic Games ping pong ball sports hall (the Peking University sports hall) design practice for the explanation. Adopting correspondence research pattern with the theory section, the author makes a thoroughly discussion on ping pong ball sports hall as a specific type within the aspect of the topics that are centered on in that section. The conclusion part is a summary on the whole paper which makes a forecast to the future Olympics sports hall design tendency.
