Collector for seafloor magnetotelluric data is a special prospecting instruments.This collector can picking up of the electric field signal and monitoring of theenvironment on the seafloor. In the development of the collector for seafloormagnetotellurie data, advanced technology about high precision electrocircuit and thereliable method of developing software are use to solve the techniques effectively.The CPLD design becomes more and more complex, using hardware descriptionlanguage to design programmable logic circuit has been adopted by widely. The paperfirstly introduces the advantage of CPLD(complex programmable Logic Device) andVHDL(VHSIC Hardware Description Language).The paper's emphasis is introducing the high-precision and multi-channel dataacquisition system based on CPLD and MCU technique. The hardware principle andsoftware design idea are presented respectively.We can integrates data bus, coding unit and Logic circuit into a single CPLDchip. It can dramatically decreases the area of PCB and increases system reliability. Atthe same time, the whole system's flexibility has been evidently improved because ofthe CPLD's in-system programmable characteristic. We use the program-controlpower supply and interrupt service routine to decrease system's power.From a great deal of experiments, we may draw a conclusion that the dataacquisition system can not only acquire data from multiple channels with highprecision, but also has the function of low-cost and high reliability.
