The domestic and abroad development trends of electric grid peak load regulatinghad been researched in the thesis. The view of thermal power plant generator unit will bethe main role in electric industry had been presented. The thermal power plant generatorunit taking part in the electric grid peak load regulating will accelerate the low cyclefatigue life consume of key parts in generator unit. It will be harmful to safety, reliableand economic operation of units, and also will reduce the health level of equipments,increase the cost of maintenance and repair, play down the reliability of electric grid.The turbine is a key equipment of thermal power plant. The rotor is a key part of turbine.The thermal stress in peak load regulating turbine rotor may endanger to the safetyoperation of thermal power plant units. So, online monitor system of steam turbine rotorthermal stress and fatigue life need to be developed.The new achievements of thermal stress and fatigue life evaluation have beensummarized in the thesis. The mathematics model of the online monitor system of steamturbine rotor thermal stress had been established. The mathematics model has the fastrunning speed and high accuracy. For research object, the thermal stress of steam turbinerotor had been evaluated by FEM method more completely. The evaluation results ofFEM had established the base of the online monitor system and shown the emphasismonitor section of rotor. The applied online monitor system of steam turbine rotorthermal stress and fatigue life had been developed by using of VB6.0. The system hadbeen used in thermal power plant successfully and had play the important role on guidethe operation of unit for the purpose of safe and economics operation of turbo-generatorunit. The system is friendly display on CRT and is conveniently used in scene.
