This paper mainly investigated the excitation system parameter identification basedon the M sequence of pseudo random signal. The excitation system parameteridentification is important to the power system simulation, and is one of the four vitalparameters in power system. After the detail discussion and analysis of the models ofexcitation system, this paper tries to investigate the parameter of the linear part. Thecourse is putting signal into excitation system and identification by use ofMATLAB/SIMULINK;And the detail analysis on the parameters of input signal, andcompared the result with the different noise situation. The last part of the paper is puttingsignal in PSS/E by use of IPLAN to simulate the identification on line.
