Full Face Rock Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) is used extensively in tunnel project atpresent,the paper puts forward consecutive boring principle on the basis of analyzing andstudying the Open Type TBM' circulative boring principle. transforming the mode ofchanging step by adding a set of the propel and gripper unit, the mode of changing step makesthe cutter head be provided persistent pushing force. Thereby, consecutive boring will become true, the key point is moment and force analysis. choosing TB880E as a typicalmachine, first introducing the whole structure, then designing the propel and gripper unit, andfinishing the design hydraulic propulsion jacks and gripper jacks. At last the paper analyzingthe utilize ratio and economy, bringing forward the method of reckoning about consecutiveboring machine's cost. The consecutive boring principle as a new theory provides new boringmode for boring machines.
