A Study On High Voltage Circuit Beaker Operation Spring Material Characteristic And Failure

The high voltage circuit breaker is one of the important factors that determinewhether the power system could supply power safely. The quality of spring speaks willinfluence the technical feature of the circuit breaker directly. Through observing themacro-fractography, micro-fractography, metallography organization and inspecting thechemical composition and hardness of the spring steel, etc, the fracture failure reason ofthe operation spring is analysed.The result shows that the bad metallurgical quality of spring material, and thespring existence serious corrosion, and the improper heat treatment technology all resultin the spring's fatigue failure and the performance index can not reach the requirementof technology.The compression process of the cylindrical-helical spring is analyzed by ANSYSFEM simulation。Stress field and strain field of string are achieved.
