Research Of Link And It's Equivalent Test Of Large Capacity STATCOM

Static Compensator (STATCOM) is the effective means of realizing powersystem dynamic voltage stability control . On the background of research of linkSTATCOM for Xi Jiao Transformer Substation of Shang Hai Power Supply Bureau ,which is the scientific research task of National Power Company , the authorresearched on link STATCOM and its equivalent test technique .The link based on IGCT is the most important power convertion part of50MVar STATCOM . On the basis of analyzing STATCOM performance andfunction requirements , the author worked out link unit with 4500V/4000A IGCT ,and completed the main circuit parameters selection and controller design .It is required to conduct experiments on equivalent rating operation condition ,equivalent overcurrent condition and equivalent DC overvoltage condition to validatewhether the design of power supply , control scheme , failure or alarm protection ,cooling system and electromagnetism compatibility can satify the designrequirements . The author conducted research on the principles of equivalent ratingoperation test , brought out the design scheme of equivalent rating operation test ,equivalent overcurrent test and equivalent DC overvoltage test , and designed out aequivalent rating operation test controller based on DSP .Moreover , the experiment on 50MVar STATCOM equivalent rating operationtest , equivalent overcurrent test and equivalent DC overvoltage test have beencarried out , the results proved the design can satisfy the design requirements , and thetest scheme can realize the validation of the equivalent test.
