As a newly developed high-performance ship, Wave Piercing Catamaran(WPC) has been applied and. investigated more and more extensively.The ship with fixed-pitch propellers has its limit and waterjet propulsion technology can meet the performance requirements. More and more research institute are studying the market demands and technical solutions of Waterjet propulsion systems. But because some key technologies, such as pipe system with lower loss and no vacuole, pump with high efficiency and big capability, the good combination among ship, equipment and pump, navigation sets with good hydrodynamic performance, have not been settled, the evolution of waterjet is slower.The goal of this paper is to advice for waterjet propulsion system with tow loss.In this paper, the theory of waterjet propulsion system and the characteristic of waterjet propulsion technology has been researched. Apply Genetic Algorithm and CFD technology, in this paper,to calculate the main parameter of WPC96's waterjet propulsor and simulate the flow of the water in waterjet inlet.In addition,analyze the factors that can affect waterjet system efficiency, such as K ,mostly geometry parameters,IVR.On the basis of analysizing the compute results, the better K ,geometry parameters,IVR and other factors to enhance the system efficiency of waterjet were obtained. The mainly researching content is following:Introduce the status and development of waterjet propulsion and probe into its current.Analyze the theory and structure of waterjet propulsor.Analyze waterjet propulsion efficiency and power distinction between propeller and waterjetIn virtue of Genetic Algorithm to enhance the system efficiency of waterjet, analyze and calculate the main parameter of WPC96's waterjet propulsor.Apply CFD software—FLUENT to simulate the flow of the water in waterjet inlet and Analyze the flow effect of inlet on WPC96's waterjet propulsion system.Analyze the flow effect of K and IVR on WPC96's waterjet propulsion system.
