| Steel is a material which has a large thermal expansion factor, and the buckling destruction is the most important destructional pattern of steel structure, so based on the two facts that buckling destruction and thermal expansion,it is very meaningful to make futher study of the effect of temperature changing to steel structures.Based on the facts that mentioned above, the autor makes an analysis on bars and round arches about how the buckling destruction perform when their temperaturechanges. This paper is composed of two parts: 1. Chapter 2 analyzes the buckling behavior of a steel column with both ends hinged when the temperature rises by FEM method, and the results are compared with the behavior under vertical load, and the concept of "critical buckling temperature" is proposed. 2. Chapter 3 of this paper studies the buckling behavior of two round arches under various loading types by FEM method. And a clear conclusion is obtained: a rise in temperature can enhance the stability of an arch, and a fall in temperature works little to the stability of an arch. |
