Transcranial magnetic stimulation(TMS) is a new method of non-invasive stimulation of centre nerve system, it is a kind of stimulating technique for some excitable tissues in which a coil with a flow of time-varying current, the current generates a high-pulsed magnetic field, then the electric field is induced within the tissue, so the cells of brain can be stimulated. Compared with other stimulations, it minimizes the discomfort to the patient and easy to repeat and operate. On the other hand, TMS still have some problems, such as bad focusing of TMS coil, low frequency and the voltage of charge is too large for reaching TMS threshold in existence TMS instrument.This paper focuses on designing the coils, and analyses the parameters of the coils. Some details which can influence magnetic field intensity are discussed. The paper mainly analyses circular coils, figure-of-8 coils and simple coil array, and designs an preferable circular coils and figure-of-8 coils respectively, and proposes the equation which can calculate the magnetic field of coils array, this will be used for the analysis of complicated coils.Under the above analysis, this paper designs the hardware of TMS, including key parameters choosing and the improvement of TMS system. Based on the minimize stimulate system, this paper designs intermediate frequency TMS system, including lash-up loop. Except that, this paper proposes a new idea to solve the energy problem of traditional TMS system.
