Hybrid Electric Vehicle becomes one of available ways to solve the problems of energy sources' lack and pollution of environment. City public transit is very crowded, and stops frequently, has slow driving speed and extremely serious pollution. City bus has fixed traveling line and regular run time normally, the total course that transit bus runs everyday is around 150~200 kilometers mostly. Under this kind of condition, the emission and the fuel economy of conventional city bus are bad. But Hybrid Electric City Bus (HECB) can just develop its advantages.This paper, based on the developments of the HEV in the world and the characters of city rode and driving characters of city bus, has a research about the key problems of SHECB: Configuration demonstration of HECB;The control algorithm of series hybrid power train and the parametric design of series HECB components and it's control system. After confirm the parameters of SHECB, the paper has a performance simulation in ADVISOR. At the end, this thesis has a study on the Regenerative Braking of Electric Vehicle.
