Seismic isolated structure system is a passive active control system, which is different from traditional anti-seismic structure system. Through setting isolation layer, earthquake energy is absorbed and dissipated and earthquake response of structure is reduced, so that the safe of structure is ensured. Seismic isolated structure system changes the energy dissipation mechanism of traditional anti-seismic structure, the earthquake energy is absorbed and dissipated by energy dissipative device setting in a isolation layer rather than by the structure and structure elements. This excellent energy dissipation characteristic can not be realized by traditional anti-seismic structure. The Friction Pendulum System (FPS) is presented by Zayas, which make use of a spherical concave surface to provide a restoring force and good vibration stabilities, and it can be used in structure system. In this paper. the different parameters of The Friction Pendulum System (FPS) isolation devices are disscussed, the optimal range of parameters are obtained.As a example of one six-storey structure is studied by the finite element analysis program sap2000, the mechanical model of the whole structure is the story-shear model, the superstructure uses the elastic model. seismic response of isolated structures is analyzed and compared with that of fixed base structures, Analysis results indicate that FPS technology has obviously seismic isolating effect, and decreases maximum response of structure sharply when earthquake occurs .Moreover, coefficient of friction μ and the radius of spherical concave surface R are the main factors of the structural design. According to time history analysis results, by increasing coefficient of friction μ and decreasing the radius of spherical concave surface R within the specific limits, the sliding displacement can be controlled, but the seismic response of structure increased at the same time, and some unfavorable influence of structure is brought, too.
