At present there are many wharfs with sheet-pile framework in China. To build the sheet-pile quay-wall on the soft foundation with relative low allowed bearing capacity may decrease volume of earthwork and problems such as cofferdam construction, etc. However, non-uniform settlement of wharf platform may occur due to large upper load and soil creep deformation, and bulkhead line may be concave or convex which will affect wharf's usage and beauty and cause the horizontal displacement of sheet-pile wall. Also it is necessary to use two anchor ties to minimize horizontal displacement of sheet-pile wall while wharf bank wall with a large height. So how to cover such disadvantages of sheet-pile framework has been a vital research subject for port engineering.Diaphragm retaining walls as a substitution for sheet-pile was presented in this paper as well as deep mixing pile for foundation process. Organic composition of them forms integrity to maintain the stability of the whole wharf. Based on the engineering case, design computation was carried out according to real loading of the wharf. A finite element model of this wharf has been built based on ANSYS to conduct a dynamic simulation for different phases of construction. Result shows that the framework presented in this paper satisfies the requirement of the engineering and it is recommendated to be used in the later similar projects. Eventually, studies on horizontal displacement of diaphragm retaining walls, deformation of deep mixing composite foundation and wharf ground settlement were presented in this paper by analyzing factors such as stacking load, rigidity of mixing pile, excavation depth of harbor pool, length of mixing pile and so on.
