The physical mechanics and permeability of unsaturated loess is expatiated in the paper. At the same time the hydraulic potential of component is analyzed in the unsaturated loess. In the different temperature and dry-density, the soil-water characteristic curve is established by the centrifuge test. The change of matric suction is very significant because of density changes. Correspondingly, the change of matric suction isn't significant caused by temperature changes. At the same time the paper deduces the soil-water characteristic curve in the different temperature, the water content and the dry-density with the Van-Genuchten Formula. Based on this, the paper comes up with the corresponding permeability parameter. The better results are obtained when the Van-Genuchten Formula is adapted to unsaturated loess. Water diffusivities are calculated for different dry-density loess based on the horizontal one-dimensional infiltrations. Exponential function is fitted to the relation of water diffusivities and water content. The water diffusible parameters increase with the increase of water content and the decrease of dry-density. The distribution of water content is tested in the both sides of loess roadbed slope. Come to the conclusion that the both sides of slope water content is influenced by different vegetation, gradient and direction etc. The slope water is affected by many reason, basically the water content in shady slope is higher than that in sunny slope. The water content decreased with the increase of slope gradient. Meanwhile, the water content is tested in the concrete ground, bitumen ground, lawn ground and bare ground. It is to find out the distribution of water content in different season.
